Do people say you have "a big heart"? Do you like helping people? Inquire about our healthcare program. You will start with a one week "Blended Worker" training which focuses on Food Sanitation and Safety in Food Services and Enviromental Services in housekeeping.
The basics of nutrition, diabetes, American Indian learning styles, interpersonal communication, characteristics of effective caregiving and safety issues in a healthcare facility are included.
After completion of the "Blended Worker" portion of the healthcare program, you are required to attend a two day "World of Work" seminar. Topics discussed include interviewing techniques, proper dress, work ethics, resumé and coverletters. Finally, before moving on, you will need to complete our self-paced basic computer training involving the Microsoft Office Suite.
Once "Blended Worker", "World of Work", and computer training have been completed, the Certified Nursing Assistant program (a joint venture between the Northwest Indian OIC and the Northwest Technical College of Bemidji, MN) will begin.
